Tom grew up in Hope, Arkansas.

Tom received a BA in Speech from Arkansas State University, a BA in Bible from Harding University, a Master of Arts in Counseling from Harding University, and has completed all but the dissertation on a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling from Trinity College of Bible and Theology.

After 41 years of working in almost all areas of ministry with local churches Tom joined Fishbowl Ministries to continue working with ministers and their families, as well as pastoral counseling, teaching, coaching, and expand his writing ministry. He has been writing A Norvell Note (www.anorvellnote.net) a weekly devotional for almost two decades.

He has served in Youth and College ministry Columbus and Cleveland, Mississippi and Clarksville, Tennessee. He has preached in Brunswick, Georgia (3 years), Colonial Heights, Virginia (11 years), Chattanooga, Tennessee (8 years), and Hermitage, Tennessee (8 years). Tom and Kim now live in Kyle, TX where time serves as a Spiritual Counselor with Harbor Hospice of Austin.

Tom recently released his first book, Until Hope Returns, which can be purchased from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kindle, or at 3:Sixteen (Lebanon, TN) and Thatcher (Buda, TX).

Tom has been married to Kim since 1976 and they have two married children, and three granddaughters. Grant, Bethany, Isabel and Hadassah live in Brooklyn, New York. Laura, Alex, and Norah live in Buda, Texas.
