Byron & Brenda’s Ministry Experience

Byron was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised by a loving Christian mother. He attended Hope International University (formerly Pacific Christian College) in Fullerton, California, acquiring a B.A. degree in Music Ministry. While attending College, he also served in the Naval Reserve on the USS George Phillips stationed out of Long Beach, CA. After receiving his B.A. in Music and Worship, he spent some time traveling as a Christian artist and performed with numerous musicians, worship leaders, and groups, such as Paul Baloche, Tommy Walker, Maranatha Music, and other Gospel Music Association artists.

Over the years, Byron’s love for worship leading and church ministry drew him into full-time pastoral leadership. For over 25 years he has served in numerous churches of differing denominations, sizes, and cultures and has been instrumental in helping churches across the county grow and expand their ministries. He has also coached and mentored many leaders within the sphere of worship, tech and creative arts. This experience has uniquely positioned him with the ability to understand the needs of the local church as well as assist candidates in finding an exceptional ministry fit.

Byron is currently serving as the full-time worship pastor at The Chapel in Akron, OH where he’s helped the church transition through various ministry changes. He has also been serving with Fishbowl Ministries offering hope, encouragement, and friendship to pastors, with specific focus on worship, lead, and campus pastors.

Byron and his wonderful wife Brenda, have been married for 26 years and have two beautifully talented daughters, Anya and Alexis. They all share a love for music and the arts and as a family have been involved in worship ministry for countless years. Byron’s favorite hobbies include golfing, attending concerts, traveling (especially to Disney with his family), and musical theatre. They all currently live in Northeast Ohio.
