Gary & Joy’s Ministry Experience

Dr. Gary Tangeman grew up in Southern California and came to faith in Christ at age twelve. His wife Joy met Jesus at an early age through Calvary Church in Santa Ana where she and Gary attended with their families growing up. Gary and Joy were married in 1978. Joy graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State Fullerton and her Master of Arts from Old Dominion University while Gary graduated from BIOLA University and received two Master of Arts degrees and his Doctor of Ministry from Talbot School of Theology. Together they have been serving the Lord in five different churches in California and Washington since 1975. Gary is currently the Lead Pastor at Celebration Church, a Christian and Missionary Alliance church located in Santa Ana, California. He is also an adjunct professor at Tozer School of Theology located on the campus of Simpson University in Redding, California where he teaches classes on church leadership and the health of the ministry leader.

Gary and Joy have two married daughters each with two children. Their oldest daughter Promise runs her own business and her husband Brian serves with Passion Ministries working with Louie Giglio in Atlanta, Georgia. Their youngest daughter Aimee and her husband Troy live in Franklin, Tennessee where they run several businesses and are active in Church of the City.
